INTRODUCING THE WALLAS WELL-BEING INDEX

 

1)  The numbers are based on their prevalence per 100,000 people.

2)  The higher the number, the better.

3)  The indexes are chosen objectively to eliminate bias.

4)  There are nine categories:

 

Culture Index - an indication of the quantity and variety of entertainment available in this city.

          Business Index - an indication of opportunities for employment.

Education Index - an indication of the number and variety of educational opportunities available for children and adults.

Justice Index – indicates the availability of specialized  legal services.

Health Index - the availability of doctors and medical services for newcomers .      

Diversity Index – A measure of the number of the different religious faiths and places of worship available in the community .

         Sports Index – An indication of the number of different sports available.

         Air Pollution Index - indicates possibility of CO2 emissions and asthma pollutants.

         Water Pollution – indication of necessity to treat water.

           Composite Well-being Index – The composite total of all of the above indexes.

If you would like to have us send you a comparison of two or more areas, please e-mail us the cities at jwallas@nextcom.ca .  There will be a charge of $25.00 for two comparisons and $35.00 for 3 comparisons.  If you would like more than that, we would be glad to negotiate a fee.  We expect to be able to respond in 4 to 6 days by e-mail.  A larger group comparison would take a bit longer.
